I think it's gonna run like crap, you should just give it to me for scrap now to save the embarrassment.

At a $100.00 I somehow doubt that you're any where near the reserve (LOL)

Re: Project Cheap Skate - Revision 1
I'm Looking at building a similar combo. Was there much porting done the the heads? I'm looking at using scj heads! Do you think they would make 600hp out of box? or is that unrealistic? I was thinking 11:1 comp and maybe a hydraulic roller think it can be done? Any advise would be great!

Re: Project Cheap Skate - Revision 1
I would strongly suggest a solid roller rather than a hyd. There are a lot of issues that come into play with valve train geometry, let alone the weight of those lifters. If you want a hyd for ease of maintenance, just do a flat hyd.boss56 wrote:I'm Looking at building a similar combo. Was there much porting done the the heads? I'm looking at using scj heads! Re: Project Cheap Skate - Revision 1
Thanks for the advice! Might go with a flat tappet cam then. Do you think high 500's-600hp is doable with out of the box super cobra jet heads from lem?

Re: Project Cheap Skate - Revision 1
It's possible IMHO, but that would be leaving a lot on the table for what they could be. Have them ported and you will be happier.
