Yeah right I used to think it'd be faster like that until I saw my buddy run his, but that's another story I have a feeling I'll be disappointed
Do you guys also have any horsepower estimates?
Well what do you think about my prediction now............. I can hear 2.5 tenths in the leave on the video.......
Keep tuning it's right around the corner. Sounds as if you need a little more converter and maybe gear, but probably converter just too tight.

Good job Justin! I knew it wouldn't be off 13.0's too far! Now get that thing to quit wheel hoppin and it'll just get faster from here. I'm impressed with your truck, I know you're proud of it!---RED

Re: What's she gonna run?
I agree with the converter being an issue. It's a bit tight, launched at 2,000-2,200. Had a best 60ft of 1.87 (better than the maverick was) and a best 1/8th mile of 8.35@85. At the big end I was crossing the line at just under 108mph I think I'll get a set of cheap slapper bars at least to control it better, I would like caltracs but if they aren't going to help much then what's the point. Now I need to make the decision, do I want to pull the trans and pay $70 to have it restalled with a smaller diameter case as well? After all, it IS a street truck mainly.
I will upload another video as well where you can clearly see how much the 1-2 shift is hurting me

Mine ran 8.31@ 86 mph and 106 on the 1/4 mile 1.80 60 ft. you will run 12.70 or less when you get it to 60 ft the mph is there for it.
Congrats on the build , you did a killer job.

Re: What's she gonna run?
Thanks! Not bad for a low compression, mildly built 460 that runs one regular for street use And one thing I did notice, I shift to 3rd before the 1/8 mile. Right about the same point I used to shift the maverick to 2nd. And both have the same gearing I'm thinking a looser, like 10 inch 2,500-2,600 converter will suit me best for what I use it for. Sound about right?
Now that I finally made a few passes, I'll get to working on the bed and properly tubbing it.

Re: What's she gonna run?
congrats on the passes. I would be looking for a 10 inch 3000-3500 stall converter given your cam and gear choices. I ran a tci street fighter for years before I had Lenny@UCC build my custom deal. Even drove the truck from Wisconsin to Kentucky to the bbf bash one year with the 10 inch tci and 3.70 gears. Never a problem.... don't be afraid to put some converter in it.... and a good valvebody will do wonders also. I had the turbo action forward pattern valvebody in my truck and it worked great didn't flare up between gears like the stocker did. This was in a used c6. If I was you those would be my next two upgrades... and a good shifter if you don't have one already. I went to turbo action for this also. Cheetah scs shifter.... good luck and have fun!

Re: What's she gonna run?
Have you checked it to see exactly where it is flashing to. If not get on the road and in second gear at an idle and mash it to the floor the tach should jump to your flash rpm and stop for a second before the engine can begin to build rpm. Where it stops at for an instant is your flash.
To err on the loose side is better than too tight et wise (to a point), to get to loose will hurt drive-ability.
I agree wit Cody above.............

Re: What's she gonna run?
I have not checked flash stall, only the rpm I can get it to while brake torquing it before the wheels spin. And I don't want to go too big, I'd like it to stall right at the max torque output if possible. Unless going bigger than that would help it

To run the fastest on the track you need to be around 200-300 above torque peak. Do the flash test and report back.

Re: What's she gonna run?
Justin I have a 10" 3500 stall in my truck now and it is street driven 90% of the time . But at the strip I have a better 60' time if I leave the line around 1600 rpm . I have an average of 1.65 - 1.68 60'.

Re: What's she gonna run?
Where do you think you make most of your torque? I will have to check flash stall this weekend after I get the exhaust back on, flash would be where it jumps up very quickly before the tires spin correct? And it should jump there right when I mash the gas?
And my shifter is a B&M truck shifter

Re: What's she gonna run?
Not real sure . Don't have that engine in truck anymore . I have a 514 in there now . The trans. I had in there couldn't handle the extra power .
