Re: My new 528 combo
Yeah they do! I am gonna focus on removing weight from the front end of truck mainly (cab forward). I think removing rear weight would be counterproductive to traction at this point. I may have to get a plasma cutter sooner than later to assist in removing weight (just another good excuse to get a new tool )

Re: My new 528 combo
It went down the track straight I left some important tools at home because of being in a rush working on a checklist for next outing and gonna have to get a good plug socket. Important lesson learned today; when building headers need to make sure I have sufficient room to remove plugs easily!

Yeah mine isn't horrible but I took the rubber piece out years ago because the socket kept getting stuck doing the plugs on overhead cam engines so I need to get a new one. I forgot about that and cracked the porcelain on a couple.

LOL, it was more to make sure nothing fell off the truck than anything so it don't matter much. I am going again next Sunday and gonna be better prepped so maybe we will learn something then.

LOL We will see what it does this weekend off the brake, I have a power master cylinder that is converted to manual so it wouldn't hold back enough to get up on the converter. I may get a manual one this weekend.

Re: My new 528 combo
Sitting at the track with the truck on the trailer, pulled an all lighter due to the fuel pump leaking. Last weekend it started as a weep then a drip and when I turned the pump on yesterday it started pouring out, replaced the motor to pump seal with a neoprene washer that was thicker than what was left of the old gasket and put an oring on the shaft to seal off the motor from fuel so hopefully its fixed or this may be a short day.

Re: My new 528 combo
My first quarter mile pass was not very good but that was half my fault and half my suspension, the truck was trying to pull the front tires off the ground near the 1/8 mile at about 100mph. I got some major attention when I let off the transbrake and it launched hard enough to pull the back wheels about 3-4 inchs off the ground.

WELL when he let go of the button it went straight up to about 2 feet or more in the front ,with it came the rear tires off the ground ,when they touched it blew them off and it turned right

Re: My new 528 combo
Its getting some work done before it goes back out, gonna move the radiator forward so I can put the fan on the back of the radiator and create some clearance to install a decent lower hose and gonna lower the whole truck about 2 - 2 1/2 inchs.

Re: My new 528 combo
I got some parts ordered for the suspension today and recieved my housing floater kit from Jegs, there is a little more assembly than what they show in the advertisement for them but I have plenty of gas and wire in the welder. Chris is selling my a set of Chassis Engineering ladderbars off his truck so I ordered housing brackets and a cross member kit from them today should be here tuesday or wednesday, I was gonna have them overnight it but they told me UPS has gone crazy on their charges to overnight stuff and it would have almost doubled the cost. I will be lowering the front end tomorrow morning. Hoping the ladderbars with housing floaters and frontend work will get this thing down the track for now, if not the next stage will be coilovers and some fat tires underneath it. Iwould like to get this thing in the 8's before the track closes which I know it's definitely got the power to do.
I know I know someone is gonna question the ladderbars but it is more of a packaging issue and they can work at this level.

Nothing wrong with them in my opinion just everytime I say something about using them a bunch of people ask why not a 4 link.
